Heating your home with Oilheat means you're relying on a fuel that is safe, efficient and reliable — and you get the security of knowing all your home heating and cooling needs are protected by Service Energy's commitment to quality.
- Oilheat and safety
Oilheat is non-explosive and will not burn in a liquid state. Heating oil is non-explosive, and must be heated to more than 140 degrees Fahrenheit — the temperature at which it begins to vaporize — before it will even light on fire. A match dropped into heating oil will go out — just as if it had been dropped into water.
There are visible warnings if there is a malfunction. With home heating oil systems, carbon monoxide leaks rarely happen without warning. If an Oilheat system should malfunction, it will release smoke or soot as a visible warning; these serve as early indicators that something is wrong, long before dangerous carbon monoxide can be released into the air.
- Oilheat and the environment
Oilheat burns cleanly. Today's Oilheat burns 95 percent cleaner than in 1970. Since it burns so cleanly, it comes well within the air pollution standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Oilheat equipment have near-zero levels of emissions. The negligible amount of emissions from your home heating oil equipment is not even regulated by the Federal Clean Air Act. Low-sulfur products and biofuels, such as those made from soybeans, will further reduce the already near-zero emissions.
Oilheat is kind to the environment. Oilheat is biodegradable and non-carcinogenic.
- Oilheat storage and security
Your onsite storage tank ensures you of a constant supply of Oilheat, just like your pantry closet ensures you'll have enough food in the house. Because your home heating oil is delivered regularly and stored on your property, you won't have to be concerned that road construction, damage to underground pipes, or inclement weather will cause you to lose heat or hot water.
- Oilheat and efficiency
Oilheat equipment uses less fuel than ever before. Thanks to major advancements in Oilheat burner technology, some Oilheat systems now boast efficiency ratings of over 95 percent! This means that modern Oilheat equipment actually burns less fuel than their predecessors, and that shows up in the homeowner's energy bills. The average annual fuel consumption in 1973 was 1,294 gallons; and now it is only 833 gallons — that's 35 percent less fuel.
New technologies make the equipment even better. Without going into long technical details, new Oilheat systems produce more heat, reuse energy that would have gone up your chimney, and can adjust their output based on need and outside temperature, advancements that mean your home is more comfortable than ever while using less energy, and saving you money every day!
- Oilheat and your budget
Budget plans help manage monthly bills. You use the bulk of your heating oil in a few short months, but with a budget plan you pay for it over the course of the year, and you'll know how much your bill will be every month, no matter how many deliveries you need.
Service and maintenance contracts save you money. A Service Energy service contract includes your annual tune-up, which can increase your system's efficiency by up to 5 percent; and also provides discounts or complete coverage for parts and labor when a repair may be needed.
